EEBUS Certification

The EEBUS Certification is the official quality mark for verified EEBUS communication. It confirms that a device implements the EEBUS standard correctly and interoperates reliably within the home energy ecosystem.

What is the EEBUS Certification?

The EEBUS Certification is the new, standardised scheme for verifying EEBUS communication in energy devices. It ensures that certified products communicate correctly according to the EEBUS standard and interoperate reliably with other certified devices.

The certificate is issued by EEBUService GmbH following successful testing at the Living Lab Cologne and a complete manufacturer’s declaration. EEBUS Certification replaces the previous Pilot Qualification, establishing a single, consistent quality standard for the entire EEBUS ecosystem.

Certification

The EEBUS Certification confirms that a product's EEBUS communication has been independently tested and verified. The certificate is issued for a specific product, based on the scope of the tests passed. Certification fee and requirements are listed in the Fact Sheet

Power Limitation

The benchmark for future-ready energy devices is "EEBUS Certified – Power Limitation". It verifies the complete EEBUS communication stack together with the LPC/LPP use cases for grid-compliant power limitation – the most comprehensive level of EEBUS Certification.

Process

Testing is carried out at the Living Lab Cologne using the EEBUS Tester. Once a device passes the required tests and the manufacturer's declaration is complete, EEBUService GmbH issues the certificate. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
